Russia Interested in Strengthening Constructive Cooperation With UN

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a New Year's message to incoming UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres that Russia was interested in boosting constructive cooperation with the United Nations, the press service of the Russian president said in a statement on Friday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Putin also expressed his hope that great experience and big knowledge would give Guterres an opportunity to effectively run the United Nations, the organization that is the foundation of the current system of international relations.

“Remembering the visit of A. Guterres in Moscow in November 2016, the Russian president confirmed interest in strengthening constructive cooperation between Russia and the United Nations,” the statement said.
