HAMBURG (Sputnik) — Earlier on Wednesday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Lavrov and Kerry were continuing cooperation on Syrian settlement at the expert level, but no new information on the settlement proposals was available.
On December 2, Lavrov and Kerry met in Rome. During the meeting, the sides agreed on the plan, which would allow all militants to leave Eastern Aleppo.
The following day, the Russian foreign minister said that Moscow was ready to send experts to Geneva as soon as possible to agree with US colleagues on joint actions, allowing militants withdrawal and non-interrupted humanitarian deliveries.
On Tuesday, the United States notified Russia that consultations on Aleppo could not begin as Washington withdrew its current settlement proposals, issued after the meeting in Rome.
