GENEVA (Sputnik) – The new addition, which comes into force on Thursday evening, includes six newly elected lawmakers from the Crimean and Sevastopol legislatures.
They have been accused of supporting the accession of the Crimean peninsula to Russia and facilitating its integration.
Swiss restrictions aim to prevent people targeted by EU’s sanctions from bypassing the curbs on them forging business relations with partners in the European Union.
Russia's historical southern region of Crimea rejoined the country after the 2014 referendum. Almost 97 percent of the region's population voted for reunification in a referendum. Sevastopol, which has a federal city status, supported the move by 95.6 percent of votes.
