US President-elect Donald Trump could convince NATO to slow down its expansion or withdraw its forces from the Russian borders, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – This "would lead to a kind of detente in Europe," Peskov told The Associated Press news agency in an interview released Friday.

According to the official, Russia sees "NATO's muscles… getting bigger and bigger and closer and closer to Russian borders."
