SHENZHEN (Sputnik) – Despite the constantly changing situation on the international arena, China is set to deepen its strategic partnership with Russia, Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong stressed at a meeting with Sergei Naryshkin, the speaker of Russia's lower house of parliament.
"In the context of a complex and changing international situation, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian officials have achieved invariability in Russian-Chinese relations," Yandong said on Friday.
Speaking in Shenzhen, the Chinese vice premier stressed that her country will not change its intention to strengthen and deepen comprehensive strategic cooperation with Russia.
Yandong added that China is looking forward to the June visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Head of the foreign affairs committee of the lower house of Russia's parliament (State Duma) Alexei Pushkov said on Thursday that Russia and China may reach important agreements during Putin's upcoming visit to China.
The delegation of Russian lawmakers headed by Naryshkin is on an official visit to China on May 5-6.
