EU Defense, Foreign Ministers to Discuss Foreign, Security Policy Friday

EU member states' defense ministers and foreign ministers are set to meet in Amsterdam on Friday to discuss key elements of Europe's foreign policy and security policies, an EU diplomatic source said Thursday.

BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — The informal meeting is expected to be chaired by the EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini.

"The strategic project is being developed by Mogherini's department. It is expected that in June the document will be ready to be approved by the heads of state and governments of EU member states," the source told RIA Novosti.

The NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will also visit Amsterdam to hold a separate meeting with EU defense ministers, the source added.
