Turkey will not be able to violate the Syria airspace after Russia had deployed S-400 defense system in Hmeymim airabse, Russian president Vladimir Putin told journalists during the press-conference in Moscow.

With Russia's deployment of the S-400 anti-aircraft system, Turkey will not be able to violate Syria's airspace with impunity, as they had previously done, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday at his annual press conference.

"They [Turkish authorities] thought that we would turn tail and run! No, Russia is not that country. We have increased our presence in Syria, have increased the number of combat aircraft deployed there. There was no Russian air defense system there –now there's the S-400. If before, Turkey had constantly violated Syrian airspace, let them try it now."

Following the incident involving the Russian Su-24M bomber which was shot down by a Turkish F-16 over Syria on the Turkish border, Russia deployed its latest anti-aircraft missile system – the S-400 to Syria, also deploying the missile cruiser Moskva and the submarine Rostov-on-Don off the shores of Syria in the Mediterranean.

The S-400 Triumf (NATO reporting name SA-21 Growler) is Russia's next-generation air defense system, carrying three different types of missiles capable of destroying aerial targets at short-to-extremely long range.

In late November, the S-400 systems were deployed at the Hmeimim airbase near the Syrian port city of Latakia to protect anti-terror operations by Russia’s Aerospace Forces. The decision was made one day after Turkey shot down a Russian Su-24 aircraft.

Many people including the Turk were prepared to enforce a no-to-zone save heaven for the stooge on the Turkey border, but looked like Mr. Erdogan has short sighted and short temper that he acted a little too soon, too premature that open the door for Russia S-400 into the war. Yes, Mr Putin was right, rather then Erdogan's NO-FLY-ZONE, the table turned to Mr. Putin's ZERO-CHALLENGING-ZONE for Erdogan.

It was well known that corrupt-national-faschist-turkey has violated syrian airspace almost on a daily base of course syria knew that too but who would think that a NATO-Member would shoot down a Russian Jet ?! Well Turkey let's move on ... and see what you do next

That's great but what about all the other countries violating Syria's air space. Can we include at least Israel in that warning?

To refer to President Putin as 'short-sighted' is at best, a product of a thoughtless mind –– who can hardly grasp issues with some sense of rationality. President Putin has said it time and time again, that neither he nor Russian people have anything against the Turks –– who are good and trusted long time friends of the Russian nation, but their terrorist-sponsored leadership –– as headed by erratic Erdogan, which made the uncanny decision to 'invite Russian to war' by shooting down a non-threatening bomber (which was only going after terrorists) –– an invitation which President Putin and the Russian leadership have wisely rejected. Anyway, ONLY the Deep can call to the Deep!!!

The Harry S. Truman with its 70+ aircraft should be arriving in the Persian Gulf any day now increasing the US airpower considerably. Will this have an impact on the Russian ops in Syria. Highly doubtful as they will be under the S-400 umbrella once they approach within 400km of Latakia. The Truman is named after the 26th US president and recall she left the AOR a day after the 26 Kalibrs were launched from the Caspian Sea.... Knock-knock! Now she comes back duly refitted for battle, but even this impressive carrier is vulnerable to missile attack and Russia has a wide variety of ASMs designed for engaging carrier battle groups. P-500, P-800, P-1000 and the Kalibrs to name a few and can be fired from ranges of 300-2500 km.
    • Well now turkey has been warned! Go guys be reckless make us laugh!

It's fun to imagine what would happen if the Turks try to operate over Syria now. But unfortunately they won't try.

ConcernedCitizen, I've heard that Israel has already been warned in effect to stay out of Syrian air space. At least I've heard as much.
