Moscow Urges Kiev to Clarify Info About Russians Detained in Ukraine

The Russian Embassy in Kiev has sent a note to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry asking for clarification on Russians allegedly detained during the anti-terrorist operations, press secretary of the embassy Oleg Grishin said Thursday.

KIEV (Sputnik) — Earlier on Thursday, the Ukraine's Security Service announced of the detention of a criminal group of Russian and Ukrainian citizens involved in smuggling weapons from European countries.

"There is still nothing new. The embassy has sent a note to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry requesting to clarify the information," Grishin told RIA Novosti.

Kiev claims that it notified Moscow about the detention of the Russian citizens in Ukraine.
