LONDON (Sputnik) — Cameron said earlier this week he was going to unveil his plan to launch airstrikes against the Islamic State terror group in Syria. The roadmap will reportedly be presented to the Commons on Thursday.
A number of senior members of parliament from Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour party are saying they could back Cameron, according to Sky News, which is against the wishes of the Labour leader who opposes UK’s military involvement in Syria.
In return, lawmakers demand a clear blueprint of UK action in Syria coupled with a plan on a political solution to the Syrian crisis and assurance on post-war reconstruction, Sky News said.
Cameron said previously he did not want to rush the Parliament into a vote, focusing instead on boosting support for UK airstrikes in Syria after a similar vote in August 2013 saw the proposal fail.
