MANILA (Sputnik) — Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has arrived Tuesday to the Philippines to take part in APEC Economic Leaders' Summit.
Trudeau and his Liberal Party won an unexpected landslide victory in the election last month, with the party rising form only 34 seats in the Canadian parliament to 184 seats in 338-strong parliament.
Since Thursday, the APEC summit has been underway in the Philippine capital, bringing together 21 Pacific Rim member economies. Leaders of APEC member states will meet in Manila November 18-19.
The APEC forum includes Russia, the United States, China, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Peru, Chili, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Brunei, Singapore, Thailand and Chinese Taipei.
