MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko this week in Kazakhstan, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday.
“He and Lukashenko will meet at the end of the week in Kazakhstan,” Peskov said.
According to preliminary results from Sunday’s presidential elections, Lukashenko garnered 83.5 percent of the popular vote, giving him a landslide win for his fifth term in office.
Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Kazakhstan October 15-16 to participate in the sessions of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Kremlin’s press service announced Monday.
“Russian President V.V. Putin will participate in the sessions of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS and the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council,” the press service said.
