BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — The suspension would allow the European Union to make the necessary arrangements and preparations for the implementation of the new deal, according a Council of the EU statement.
"Following the agreement reached on 14 July 2015 in Vienna on the Iranian nuclear issue, the Council has prolonged until 14 January 2016 the suspension of EU restrictive measures agreed in the Joint Plan of Action with Iran dated 24 November 2013."
Iran and the P5+1 group (China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Russia and the United States) came to a historic agreement on Tehran’s nuclear program after years of negotiations.
