WARSAW (Sputnik) — Duda is set to be sworn in as Poland’s president in August after defeating the country’s outgoing president Bronislaw Komorowski in a second-round run-off last month.

"Next week Poland’s president-elect will meet with the NATO secretary general," Szczerski said, declining to specify where the meeting would take place.

Poland is scheduled to host NATO's next summit for the first time in July 2016 after joining the alliance in 1999.

On Thursday, Duda also met with US presidential candidate Jeb Bush in Warsaw to discuss security issues and bilateral cooperation.
