MOSCOW (Sputnik), Daria Chernyshova – Western nations are changing their view of Kiev as "they are starting to get scared" by the Ukrainian government’s actions, including its "refusal" to implement February's peace deal with independence supporters in southeastern Ukraine, Alexei Pushkov, head of the foreign affairs committee of the lower house of Russia's parliament, told reporters.
At the same time, the West has no other choice but to continue to support Kiev, as it has been doing so for a considerable amount of time already, the parliamentarian added.
"The European Union cannot say Ukraine is not their ally anymore as they have already gone too far down this path. But the EU will be seriously constraining its rapprochement with Ukraine," Pushkov added.
"Ukraine’s plummeting public image… will manifest itself during the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly," the lawmaker added.
Earlier in the day, Pushkov said that Russia will present two Ukraine-linked draft resolutions to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Parliamentary Assembly.
