Members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) are planning to strengthen military cooperation to counter the growing terrorism threats at their common borders, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said Thursday.

DUSHANBE (Sputnik) — Defense ministers of CIS and CSTO countries held meetings on June 3 in Kyrgyzstan and on June 4 in Tajikistan.

"All ministers underlined the need to boost military cooperation both in the framework of CIS and CSTO," Antonov said.

Antonov stressed that the ministers "expressed concern over the situation along our borders, especially in the context of the terrorist threat."
