MOSCOW, November 5 (RIA Novosti) — Moscow is not ruling out the possibility of informal meetings between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Barack Obama at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and G20 summits, but separate meetings have not been planned, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told RIA Novosti Wednesday.

"The leaders communicate at international summits one way or another, but separate bilateral meetings of any kind are not in plans now," Peskov stated.

The APEC summit is to take place in Beijing on November 10-11 and the G20 summit on November 15-16 in Brisbane, Australia.

The last time the two presidents met in person was during the D-Day anniversary in France on June 4 that commemorated the Allied landings in Normandy on June 6, 1944.

Russia-US relations have been strained in light of the Ukrainian crisis, with the West accusing Moscow of meddling in Ukraine's internal affairs and escalating the crisis in the country, although Russia denied its involvement.

The reunification of Crimea with Russia in March also contributed to the cooling of the relations between the two countries.
