KIEV, October 28 (RIA Novosti) – With 80.17 percent of ballots counted, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseny Yatseniuk's People's Front is gaining 21.94 percent of votes at the country's parliamentary election, leaving Poroshenko's bloc behind with 21.6 percent, according to Ukraine's Central Election Commission.

According to the commission, another four parties are entering the Ukrainian parliament: Samopomich (Self-Help) party headed by mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovy with 11.06 percent of the votes, the Opposition Bloc with 9.53 percent, Oleh Lyashko's nationalist Radical Party with 7.42 percent, and Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) party headed by former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko with 5.68 percent.

President Poroshenko said earlier he considered Yatsenyuk's party a strong partner candidate for the creation of a parliamentary coalition.

On October 26, a snap parliamentary election was held in Ukraine, with the turnout standing at 52.42 percent.

Under the Ukrainian Constitution, the parliament, called the Verkhovna Rada, is the one chamber, sole legislative authority in Ukraine.

The Verkhovna Rada is composed of 450 members of parliament, who are elected in universal, equal and direct elections by secret ballot for a term of five years.

The previous election took place in October 2012. On August 26, Poroshenko dissolved the Verkhovna Rada and declared an early parliamentary vote, saying that the composition of the parliament, elected under the presidency of ousted Viktor Yanukovych, was no longer relevant to the existing political situation.
