Houses in Tara, Omsk region, Russia.

The taiga villages of Siberia are quite different from villages in central Russia, as they are highly impacted by isolation from civilisation and the lack of protection from wildlife.

Various little towns and villages are left almost lost in the vast areas of the Siberian taiga in Russia, continuing their existence in utmost isolation. People have become accustomed to living solitary lives in the small village of Tara. Most houses in the town are wooden, as it is the most readily available construction material. Sputnik's photo gallery gives you a glimpse into the snowy Siberian landscape.
