Moscow Metro, the first underground railway system in the USSR, was opened to the public on May 15, 1935.

The Moscow Metro, Russia's first and most extensive rapid transit system, holds a train parade to commemorate its 82nd anniversary.

With its first line being opened to the public in 1935, the Moscow Metro eventually evolved into a massive rapid transit system sprawling underneath the Russian capital, with over 200 stations and more than 200 miles of tracks.
