Syrian Kurds Showcase Traditional Attire at Fashion Show

Subscribe
Syrian Kurds hit the catwalk on March 10, 2017, to demonstrate traditional Kurdish attire during a fashion show. The show was sponsored by a local political party and featured 15 women and seven men modelling a range of traditional attire.

The traditional Syrian-Kurdish outfits have not been seen in public in Syria's Kurdish regions in years due to the restrictions on the minority that also banned their language and denied them Syrian nationality.

However, after Syria's uprising in March 2011, the government relaxed some restrictions in the Kurdish-majority areas in the country's north.
