The annual Defender of the Fatherland Day is observed in Russia on February 23.

While often regarded as a celebration of men in general and sometimes referred to as Men's Day, officially this holiday celebrates the people who serve or have served in the Russian Armed Forces — the eponymous defenders of the fatherland.
