    Russian Aircraft Return to Base After Bombing ISIL in Syria

    Fighter aircraft return to the Hmeimim air base in Syria after carrying out airstrikes against the Islamic State on October 5.

    On October 5 the Russian Defense Ministry stated that Sukhoi Su-34, Su-24 and Su-25 aircraft Russian Air Force carried out ten air strikes in the preceding 24 hours against the Islamic State in the region of Idlib. The airstrikes destroyed the militants' hideouts, their warehouses of ammunition, and bomb-making facilities.
