The incident occurred amid heavy rain hitting the west coast of the country since Monday. They have already caused several floods and landslides in Mumbai. The authorities have stated they are fully prepared for a mass evacuation.

Three cranes collapsed at India's largest container port near Mumbai due to strong winds on Wednesday. According to preliminary reports, no one was injured due to the incident.
