According to a No 10 spokesman, the prime minister will "follow the guidance for vaccinated close contacts, including daily testing and limiting contact with others".
UK PM Boris Johnson has had to cancel his trip to Lancashire as one of his family was diagnosed with COVID-19, Sky News reported on Thursday. However, it is as yet unclear whether it is his wife, Carrie, or one of his infant sons - Wilfred or Romy - who has tested positive.
The news comes as Johnson finds himself in a spot of hot water, facing allegations that he visited Christmas parties in Whitehall in 2020 which violated the lockdown restrictions his government had already put in place.
According to The Sunday Times, Johnson and his wife stand accused of attending a party in the Downing Street garden that was against the rules, since it took place during the first lockdown in 2020 when outdoor group gatherings were banned and social mixing was limited to two people.
The prime minister, however, has repeatedly denied reports that he broke any COVID-19 rules.
