Suspect Detained Following Reports of Shooting in University in Spain - Photos

Earlier, it was reported that an armed man entered the building of the University of the Basque Country in Leioa, northern Spain, and fired several shots.

A suspected shooter has been detained, police said.

"The @ Gob_us it wishes to send a message of tranquillity to the affected people and their families in the face of the eviction of the EHU-UPV campus in #Leioa due to the presence of a person armed with a shotgun. 📌 The alleged perpetrator has already been arrested without finding injured persons."

No injuries were reported after the incident.

Earlier on Wednesday, media reports said that students at the University of the Basque Country in Leioa were being evacuated following reports of shooting in the area.

An armed man entered the building of the university and fired several shots, local media reported.
