The global coronavirus tally has surpassed 202,000, while the death toll has almost reached 4.3 million, according to Johns Hopkins University, which tracks data on the pandemic around the world.
The United States, India, and Brazil are the three most affected countries amid the pandemic. America has registered almost 35 million infected and over 616,000 fatalities, at the same time, India has 31.9 million cases and 427,000 deaths, while Brazil has the second-highest death toll, 563,000, with over 20 million infected.

ZURICH (Sputnik) - The Swiss medicines regulator Swissmedic approved on Monday the use of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for youngsters aged between 12 and 17.

"Swissmedic has carefully examined the application from Moderna Switzerland GmbH for the indication extension and has extended the temporary authorisation for the Spikevax COVID-19 vaccines from Moderna for the prevention of the coronavirus disease in adolescents aged 12 to 17", the regulator said in a statement.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russia registered 22,160 COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, down from 22,866 the day before, taking the overall tally to 6,469,910, the federal response centre said on Monday.

"Over the past day, 22,160 COVID-19 cases were confirmed across 85 Russian regions, including 1,914 cases (8.6%) without clinical symptoms", the centre said, adding that the rate of increase fell to 0.34%.
