Million Mask March Underway in London as UK Enters Second Coronavirus Lockdown

Londoners gather to denounce global corporations, 'government corruption', police brutality and racism on 5 November, Guy Fawkes Day, in commemoration of the events of 1605, when the members of the Gunpowder Plot attempted to blow up the House of Lords.

Sputnik is live from London, the UK, where the annual Million Mask March, organised by the Anonymous movement, is taking place. 

Demonstrators are wearing Guy Fawkes masks, a member of a group of provincial English Catholics who was involved in the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605. 

Thanks to the 2005 movie V for Vendetta, the masks have become a symbol of riot and resistance, as well as of the Anonymous movement itself.
