07:52 GMT 18.05.2020 (Updated: 19:36 GMT 03.11.2022) A pilot from the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) aerobatic team died on Monday, while another was injured during a tragic jet crash in the province of British Columbia. Captain Jennifer Casey died, while Captain Richard MacDougall managed to eject and landed on the roof of a house, sustaining injuries, according to official reports.
Users have posted several videos, depicting the fatal crash of the Canadian Snowbirds jet. The footage, uploaded on social media, shows two planes flying in sync when one of them suddenly changes the course and then starts nosediving. Shortly before the crash, a cloud of smoke from the ejection of the pilot may be seen.
At the moment, the cause of the catastrophe remains unknown.
