Mount Kelimutu, situated on the Indonesian island of Flores, is one of the most truly breathtaking sights in the world. It has three volcanic crater lakes that can change their color unpredictably.

Two neighboring lakes, the "Enchanted Lake" and the "Lake of Young Men and Maidens," are often red or green, while the third one, called the "Lake of Old People," is typically blue. However, the color of their waters can vary and even become white or black. It changes due to the chemical reactions of the minerals contained in the lake and the fumes coming from the volcano.

This miraculous place has long been considered by locals as a sacred spot and final resting place for departed souls. According to their belief, the unpredictable water color change corresponds to the moods of the spirits.
