Archaeologists May Have Just Found the OG Santa Claus's Tomb in Turkey

Turkish archeologists might be having a reason to rewrite Christian history: they found what they think could be the original grave of Saint Nicholas popularly known as Santa Claus.

Cemil Karabayram, the head of Antalya's Monument Authority, was conducting a digital survey below the surface of the Saint Nicholas Church in the ancient Greek town of Myra (the present-day Demre in Antalya Province, Turkey), when he stumbled upon what appears to be an untouched shrine. Reaching this tomb will take some time, as first the floor mosaics must be carefully removed.

According to a common belief, the remains of Saint Nicholas have been held in the Italian city of Bari since 1087, after they were brought there by the city's sailors from the saint's resting place in Myra. But now, the Turkish experts assume those relics actually belonged to another priest.
