Bulgarian President Rumen Radev on Tuesday signed a decree setting early parliamentary elections in the country for March 26, 2017, the presidential press service said in a statement.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The same decree stipulates the dissolution of the current parliament on January 27.

"The head of state signed a decree on early parliamentary elections to be held on March 26, 2017," the statement said.

The snap elections will be held following the resignation of Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and the failure of Bulgarian political parties to form a new government.
