EU 'Unfortunately Does Not Have Political Will' to End Anti-Russia Sanctions

Moscow's permanent representative to the European Union said Brussels lacked political will to scrap anti-Russia sanctions despite understanding the harm of this policy.

BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — The European Union lacks the political will to end the anti-Russian sanctions although it is beginning to realize that restrictions are absurd, Russia's Permanent Representative to the EU Vladimir Chizhov said Monday.

"They, unfortunately, do not have enough political will to put an end to the sanctions, although more and more people in the European Union, including among the leaders of EU member states, of course, understand the absurdity of these sanctions decisions," Chizhov told RIA Novosti.
