Extension of sanctions against Russia is a dead-end which does not promote resolution of any issues, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day, German Chancellor Angela Merkel spoke of the necessity to extend the anti-Russia sanctions in relation to the situation in Ukraine.

“This is up to our western partners, whether they want to cooperate or take the path of sanctions. We believe that this is a dead end, it does not promote resolution of any issue,” Ushakov told reporters.
