MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Russian REN TV broadcaster on Monday will show a television premiere of the "Ukraine on Fire" documentary, produced by world-renowned US director Oliver Stone and telling the story of the so-called Maidan riots in Ukraine's capital of Kiev in 2013 and 2014.

The broadcaster is expected to air the movie, which was directed by Igor Lopatonok — a US citizen of Ukrainian origin — at 5 p.m. local time (14:00 GMT).

The film describes the events that resulted in the ongoing deadly conflict in eastern Ukraine and shows the details of foreign involvement in the deadly clashes in Kiev. It also includes positions of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, ex-Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko, as well as of Russian President Vladimir Putin, interviewed by Stone.

The "Ukraine on Fire" film was first presented at the Taormina Film Festival in Italy in June.
