JERICHO (Sputnik) — Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Friday described the work of ex-Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili in the capacity of Odessa region governor as utter failure, predicting the end of the politician's career.
"I will use a simple Russian phrase: this passenger has pooped himself again so to speak, which is unfortunate for Ukraine as the country expected to see the Odessa region prospering under such an experienced person, but the result turned out to be…negative," Medvedev said at a news conference at the end of his visit to Israel and Palestine.
On Monday, Saakashvili said he had made a decision to resign as the governor of the Odessa Region due to Ukrainian authorities' alleged unwillingness to fight corruption, while also accusing President Petro Poroshenko of protecting criminal groups in the region.
"I think that his [Saakashvili's] career has ended in Georgia and the same, apparently is happening in Ukraine," Medvedev added.
