French President Francois Hollande will hold a telephone conversation on the Normandy-format summit organization with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel later on Wednesday, French government spokesman Stephane Le Foll said.

PARIS (Sputnik) — The sides are expected to discuss the possibility of holding a Normandy Four summit on Ukraine crisis settlement in Berlin on October 19, the French government spokesman specified.

"We are talking about a telephone conversation with President Putin and [Chancellor] Merkel, which will be held tonight, I think it is highly likely be held in a trilateral format," Le Foll said at a briefing after the meeting of the French Cabinet in the Elysee Palace.

On Thursday, Hollande plans to discuss the same issue with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Le Foll added.
