UK Foreign Secretary: No Plans to Visit Russia Until Moscow Stops Assad Support
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Johnson expressed hope that officials in Moscow and Damascus could hear that the UK lawmakers were ready to consider anything to resolve the crisis in the country.

"We have to step up the pressure on the [Syrian President Bashar] Assad regime through sanctions and of course on the Russians through sanctions," Johnson told the House of Commons.

Russia may become a pariah nation if it continues on "current path" in Syria, UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said Tuesday.

"If Russia continues in its current path and I believe this great country is in danger of becoming a pariah nation and if president [Vladimir] Putin’s strategy is to restore greatness and the glory of Russia then I believe he risks seeing his ambition turn to ashes," Johnson told the House of Commons.
