VIENNA (Sputnik) — The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has considered Gabon’s request for rejoining the cartel and decided to admit the country from July 1, the organization said in a statement Thursday.
"The Conference considered Gabon’s request to rejoin the Organization, and decided to approve its admission with effect from 1st July 2016," the statement read.
Earlier in the day, the 169th session of the cartel concluded in Vienna.
