Damascus May Become Venue for Signing Intra-Syrian Talks Final Document
GENEVA (Sputnik) The Syrian government delegation notes a lack of progress in the ongoing Syria proximity talks in Geneva largely due to the absence of a serious response from the opposition, the head of the delegation said Monday.

"The progress is still lacking, while the atmosphere is positive. But there is no serious response from the other side," Bashar Jaafari told reporters following a meeting with UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan De Mistura.

"We have already submitted to De Mistura an explanatory note on the formal talks on the political process. But we haven't received such official paper from the other side," he stressed.
