The Russian side expressed satisfaction with the measures Egypt is taking to ensure security at Egyptian airports aimed at restoring the tourist flow, according to Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.

MOSCOW(Sputnik) — The Russian authorities have expressed satisfaction with additional security measures introduced at Egyptian airports in the wake of Russian A321 passenger plane downing over the Sinai Peninsula last year, Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said Wednesday.

"The Russian side expressed today satisfaction with the measures Egypt is taking to ensure security at Egyptian airports aimed at restoring the tourist flow," Shoukry told reporters at a news conference rounding to the results of his visit to Moscow.

Russia suspended all flights to and from Egypt last fall after a Russian A321 plane crashed in the Sinai desert on October 31 while flying from the resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg. All 224 people on board died in what has become the largest civil aviation disaster in Russian history.
