US Secretary of State John Kerry began his meeting in Vienna with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif on the implementation of the Iran nuclear agreement, State Department Director of Communications Marie Harf said Saturday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — European Union High Representative Federica ‎Mogherini is expected to join the trilateral discussions on Iran’s nuclear deal in the Austrian capital.

"John Kerry and Javad Zarif just began meeting in Vienna with their teams on implementation," Harf wrote in her official Twitter account.

On July 14, Iran and the P5+1 group of countries comprising the United States, Russia, China, France and the United Kingdom plus Germany, signed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action with Iran. The agreement guarantees the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief.
