TEL AVIV (Sputnik) – Russian diplomats have visited a Russian national detained in Israel on a US warrant, Russia's Embassy in Tel Aviv said Friday.
"Employees of the consular department of the Russian Embassy in Israel visited Russian citizen Alexey Burkov, who is currently at a temporary detention facility, on December 25. During the visit, they drew the facility staff's attention to the need to strictly observe the Russian citizen's rights, including when it comes to health care and phone communications," head of the embassy's consular department Ruslan Kandaurov told RIA Novosti.
Burkov was detained by Israeli police at the Ben Gurion international airport on December 15.
