WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The press secretary noted that the White House will have Obama’s schedule for the G20 meeting “in the next couple of days.”
“I’m not aware of any planned meetings with Mr. Putin,” Earnest said. “I certainly would not rule out the kinds of discussions that we have seen in the past, where they were either in a hallway together or some other place where they have an informal opportunity to talk.”
Earlier on Monday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the possibility of a meeting between the two leaders will depend on their schedules.
Turkey is due to host the tenth G20 Leaders’ Summit, a leading international cooperation forum representing 85 percent of global GDP and over 75 percent of global trade.
The summit will take place in Antalya in November 15-16.
