MOSCOW, November 19 (Sputnik) —The European Union has hosted a ministerial delegation from Bolivia intending to boost cooperation on global and regional issues, the European External Action Service (EEAS) reported Wednesday.

On November 18, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini held a meeting with Bolivian External Affairs Minister David Choquehuanca Cespedes. The two diplomats discussed regional integration in Latin America and stressed "the need to step up their cooperation on global issues, notably climate change," the EEAS said in a press release.

The meeting between Mogherini and Choquehuanca took place after the fourth annual High-Level Dialogue, which was devoted to the issues of counter-narcotics struggle, human rights, trade and investment and climate change issues this year. The forum's participants also discussed international issues, including the current situation in Ukraine and in the Middle East.

According to the EEAS, Bolivia is "the largest recipient of EU's bilateral cooperation in Latin America, with an amount of EUR 281 million for the period 2014-2020." The bloc is supporting Bolivian government's reforms, including improving water access, the strengthening of its justice system and the fight against drugs.
