MOSCOW, October 12 (RIA Novosti) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko expects that an appointment of new defense minister who will replace resigned Valeriy Heletei, will take place on Tuesday, according to Poroshenko’s address posted on official presidential website on Sunday.
“Tomorrow I will submit new defense minister candidature to Verkhovna Rada. I am sure that we will not delay the voting. I hope that on Tuesday, on a parliament session day, it [an appointment] will take place,” Poroshenko said.
Earlier on Sunday, Poroshenko accepted the resignation of the country's Defense Minister Valeriy Heletei.
