MEXICO CITY, November 24 (RIA Novosti) - Mexican President-elect Enrique Pena Nieto is likely to visit Russia shortly after he takes office on December 1, an official from Nieto’s team said on Friday.
“Our countries have a lot in common, including challenges we are facing,” Emilio Lozoya, the team's deputy international affairs coordinator, said.
“Tourism from Russia to Mexico has significantly risen, so it is quite likely that Russia may be included in one of Pena Nieto’s foreign visits soon,” he said.
The Mexican official said Mexico would like to diversify its foreign ties and make them more active just as economic cooperation with other countries. Lozoya confirmed his country’s interest in signing an agreement on promotion of mutual investment.
