Some 35,000 law enforcement officers will ensure order on Moscow streets during New Year and Christmas celebrations, a deputy head of the Russian capital’s police department for public order maintenance said on Sunday.
Dmitry Deinichenko said over 600 mass events will be held in Moscow in the next few days.
All venues will be checked by dogs and people participating in celebrations will be screened by means of metal detectors.
Russia will celebrate Christmas on January 7.
