At least 35 people were killed and more than 60 injured on Thursday when a car bomb went off near a funeral ceremony in the northwest of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, according to Iran's Press TV.
The explosion took place around 11:00 GMT in Baghdad's predominantly Shia district of Shula, causing extensive damage to nearby buildings.
Recent terrorist attacks have mainly targeted the majority Shia community and Iraqi security forces.
They also pose a major challenge to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki whose coalition government took office last month.
