A shootout in the capital of Russia's volatile Republic of Dagestan in the North Caucasus has resulted in the death of at least one person and another two have been wounded, a regional police spokesman said on Sunday.
According to preliminary information, the shootout was sparked between two groups of businessmen and the reason for the violent conflict is being investigated.
"At around 6:00 p.m. [15:00 GMT]...a shootout between two groups of people occurred. According to preliminary information, one person was killed and two [others] were wounded," the police source said.
No information was given on what type of business the two groups were involved in.
A police press service spokesman said an investigation has been started in regard to the shootout.
