Russia is interested in a partnership with the European Union and such cooperation is taking shape, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said at a Russia-EU summit on Tuesday.
Addressing the Brussels summit, Medvedev emphasized that multilateral cooperation between Russia and the EU has yielded extremely positive results in 2010.
"Russia is very interested in such cooperation [with the EU]," Medvedev said, adding that relations with the organization are "very extensive and absolutely mutually beneficial."
"The agreement to conclude talks with the EU on Russia's accession to the WTO is of great importance," the Russian president also said.
Russia has been negotiating World Trade Organization (WTO) entry for 17 years and is likely to join the global trade body next year.
